Naked on London Transport

special

There is something disturbing and fun about this picture. They look like police, but what is going on? I believe the woman is the Italian porn actress Maria Grazia Buccella, pictured in the early 1960s.

Maria Grazia Buccella wasn’t exactly a porn actress. Just a little sex and a few hints like this nice image mostly for teens 🙂

I only know what little I found on her and this picture – from the other pictures I saw i don’t think she was auditioning for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Let’s settle for soft erotica artiste. 😉

In the early 60’s policemen would always wear traditional helmets outside.
It looks to me as if it is a posed picture of two security men carrying a mannequin very early in the morning (no traffic) with a very badly superimposed face on it.

I am pretty sure this an actual nude shot (certain in fact) – its not a mannequin and this is pre Photoshop. But I grant you it looks staged and is almost certainly a studio shot. Incidentally you are wrong about the hats – it depends very much on the constabulary and only beat officers wear pointy hats.

A transport matter is handled by a squad car for which they have the right hats for the period. But in any case I suspect they are not real cops. 😉

I don’t think that mannequins have wrinkles where the thigh meets the ass; and the skin looks human, too. But I, too, suspect that some kind of manipulation was done. The signs on the bus are in English and it looks like a classic London double-decker; but the hats on the policemen are not bobby caps.

Not Bobby Helmets as you say (see above) but you are right it is an actual (if staged) studio shot. But I wondered if it might be a film promo or advert?

I think the ‘policemen’ are actually London Transport staff; a driver and a conductor. In those days bus drivers and conductors wore uniforms like these.

Sorry T – not that it matters but I think you are wrong. LT bus uniforms had no brass buttons on their pockets but their cap badges were large and distinctive with a circle and a fat line through them.

These my be transport cops – but they have the standard police uniform prior to c1969 when most UK police adopted the Scottish style with the chequered hat bands.

Go Transport Geeks everywhere (or former small boys on London buses) 😉

Thanks for that DJ. Looking closer at the picture, I’m beginning to ask myself whether any of those people are in the picture at all. Maybe it’s some clever photoshop picture.

It is a studio shot with a photograph back drop would be my guess – so no one is in the street. I just thought it was a fun shot and wondered if it was a promo for a film or some such 🙂
