Kind words for harsh deeds

04Jul14

corner time coyOver the last week or so I have had been singled out for special mention on at least two blogs.

It is always nice when this happens and I always appreciate it when someone like Less Than Three gives me a name check or comments on my work on their blogs.

Last week I had not one, but two mentions on Scarlet’s Real Magic, one for my post on the nature of submission and topping and another for a Weekly Round-Up of all things where I briefly discussed the vanilla subject of the twilight solstice in Yorkshire.

More particularly following my correspondence with Natasha Knight she was kind enough to review my rather episodic novel The Russell Corner.

That book is almost five years old now, I can’t believe it, or the thousand or so copies it sold taking sales by my previous publisher and LSF together.

I think I have written better since but nothing quite so intense.

It is a rather harsh book with quite OTT punishments, which ironically I strived to keep light and believable, a fact recognised by Natasha’s review.

If you haven’t read it, and it is one of the few pieces of my work that is only available if you do, it is about the world as seen by a spanko secretary who secretly craves being taken in hand by her boss while meanwhile around her everyone else is reluctantly living her dream.

By and by we encounter a strict finishing school, two spanking households and an office building that positively resounds with spanks. As plots go it is an unfocussed mess and if I ever write The Return to the Russell Corner I will have a lot of tidying up to do.

Still it is gratifying that people still like it. Thanks again to Natasha and Scarlet for the name check.
